New Premises - 8th July 2008

Earlier this year the Solihull Action through Advocacy team of Nicky, Caron, Mike, Joanne and Norman moved from very cramped offices in Shirley to new premises in Chelmsley Wood.

Our new address is:
Solihull Action through Advocacy
St Andrew’s Centre, Pike Drive,
Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham, B37 7US

The team outside out new office.

As you can see from this photograph of our brightly-beaming team outside St Andrew’s Church, we are very pleased with the new offices.

We have happy memories of our time in Shirley, but we needed better access for people with disabilities, more room for our staff to work, and space to meet with the people we advocate for and support.

We were delighted when the opportunity came to move to St Andrew’s Centre, and look forward to welcoming you all as visitors.

We are grateful for all the people who helped us in our move and send you now a big thank you!

These are some of the people who made it happen:

  • St Andrew’s Church, with special thanks to Jed, who warmly welcomed us as tenants;
  • Solihull SNAP (Special Needs Active Partnership), who generously supplied us with much needed computer equipment and furniture;
  • ReCOM, who donated our fax machine;
  • SoLO (Solihull Leisure Opportunities) our good neighbours and friends on the first floor;
  • The Colebridge Trust, especially Wayne, who installed our computer network ready to use when we moved in;
  • Browne Jacobson, Christ Church URC Solihull, Shirley Lions, the Union Theatre and the Dubarrie School of Dance in Shirley, who have funded our computer equipment, the move itself and the purchase and installation of a much needed telephone network.
  • Thank you also to Charles at SUSTAiN who has provided support and advice and to those of you who came in especially to help us unpack.
  • Not forgetting Dale & Daughters who were so helpful on moving day.
  • To all we have unintentionally overlooked, thank you!
