New Year, New Team!

Well 2008 brought us arrivals and departures leaving us with our new look 2009 SAtA team.  Our parents advocate Caron Cook moved on to pursue a career in counselling at the end of October.  Caron is missed by staff and clients alike, but we are sure that many lucky children and families in Birmingham are now benefiting from her patience, support & humour!

2008 saw the welcome return to SAtA of our 1st parents advocate, Debbie Powell, in a new role as our Business Development worker.  Debbie is busy looking at ways of developing service user evaluation, considering funding opportunities and supporting student placements with us.  Having the years of experience as an advocate has given Debbie a great basis to look for development opportunities.

Jo Paintain also joined the team in November 2008 as an advocacy worker and it already feels like she’s always been here (in a good way!).  Jo had come from completing her degree & working for our neighbours SoLO.  Jo has been a hit with staff and clients alike and managed to get us all in the festive mood before Christmas.

So our 2009 team is made up of Nicky, Norman, Mike, Joanne, Debbie & Jo backed up by our faithful volunteers.  We look forward to a good year ahead continuing to make a difference & support people to make positive changes in their lives.
